a long tme ago a greek philospher said ‘know thyself’. centuries after these words were spoken how many of us really do i wonder? very few….and even those who claim that they know themselves perhaps will realize that the more they think they know of themselves how little they really do. maybe when we really think we know ourselves we’ll realize how little we do know of ourselves or anything else. with that understanding perhaps it’s best to be in peace and accept that truth and know that what you do know …. is enough for that moment in time and that is what you’re meant to know.
i came across this thought that i felt maybe something to reflect on….
“our soulmate is perhaps the person who manages to push our buttons!”
certainly a soulmate does not have to be a mirror image of who we are. that’s a mindset, we’ve programmed ourself to thinking that a soulmate is a person who likes to eat spinach the way i do, or has the same thought process going on or ties their shoe laces the same way or is a splitting image….maybe there’s another way to look at this soulmate business. hunh?
seems to me that if there’s any person with whom we are in conflict with then there’s still some lesson to learn from that person and this person is our best teacher…we have chosen to have these people in our life to make us feel worthy of who we wish to be and are becoming.
i’ve understood that whatever i give my attention to i will create it and make it grow in my life.
so…the general rule of thumb for me is:
“if it feels good. i give it all my attention, but if it does not feel good then i don’t look at it at all”.
now this can be taken as positively as you want for anything at all in your life.
‘feeling good’ acts like a barometer for what is good and worth giving your attention to.
be aware of how you’re feeling to keep the good feeling.
there’s magic in the feeling of gratitude.
there’s so much we tend to take for granted, yet if we just stop for a brief moment and become aware of what all we can be grateful for the list is endless.
the air we breathe,
the food we eat,
the bed we sleep in…
the chair we sit on,
the water we drink, the birds, the bees, the trees, the flowers, the fruit, the pen and pencil, the phone, the laptop, the slippers, the shower, the spoon, the scissors, the paper, the car…..the sun that shines, the falling rain, the cool breeze on my cheek, the soft moonlight , the stars….the people in my life, past and present….
i could go on and on. there’s so much abundance of what we can be grateful for.
two simple magical words……’thank you’ are life changing and life empowering.
i’m a subscriber – to a place where i feel only love.
it’s a choice and I make it with an awareness and deliberate intent.
i consciously look for things, people and experiences that i love to love and that’s exactly what I get!
i love it!
there are many ways of looking at the same thing.
i love rainy days and mondays ……it’s true!
so often even an ordinary rainy day becomes a ‘bad weather ‘ terrible day. come to think of it, it’s not a ‘bad’ day it’s just a ‘wet’ day. a simple change in perspective can turn it into a lovely day.
i suppose it’s a question of where we’re coming from.
i’m conscious of how i express myself as i discover that any and everything can be an empowering affirmation.
every thought and word we say has an energy and vibration that can be uplifting or a downer.
our outlook has more to do with our inlook rather than what is out there…..
bottom line – i enjoy new ways of thinking.
our thoughts have the power to shape our lives and our feelings and our feelings are the indicators of what we are thinking and if it’s good and in harmony with our true self.
thoughts lead to how we feel….
our feelings emit the vibrations….
out into the Universe…..
and these vibrations create and attract similar vibrations like a magnet
…..and create our so called reality.
we are the co-creators of our lives. there are no victims here, no one else to blame and everything we are living and feeling is an outcome of our thoughts, feelings and vibrations.
this brings us to reality or illusion?
will leave this for another day…..have a wonderful one!
today, i’m ready to climb a mountain – literally!
i feel inspired and excited, knowing that it will be a tough climb.
i understood that it’s not the actual goal and reaching the top that holds the key to the feelings i have, but it’s the process of preparation in every little detail and anticipation along with my fellow travelers that makes it worthwhile and rewarding even before the actual accomplishment of the goal.
isn’t that true for anything, it’s how we choose to live our life and get to where we want to be rather than simply the actual accomplishment of anything that makes it more satisfying? i ave know sometimes the feeling of anti-climax that accompanies the completion of goals…..perhaps it comes from not having been in the moments that made up the journey and simply looking ahead.
it brings me to this moment of awareness of where i am and how i got here and where i intend to go one step at a time.
it’s a beautiful blue sky sunshiny day and the ‘kamis’ ( spirits) of mt fuji san beckon me with their blessings once again……i’ll look for my winged friends – the butterflies- as we make our way to the top!
this ‘i’m very busy’ business is amusing………
we are really as busy as we choose to be.
often it seems people don’t want to be perceived as doing nothing…. well, ‘doing nothing’ is also doing something! and if you’re doing something then you are busy.
the way i see it maybe my perception of this ‘busy’ business. the bottom line is that we all have a choice in how busy we are. we actually do make time for the things and people who matter to us. it’s a question of priorities given a time frame. it’s also no point being busy if you feel like you’re neither satisfied nor are you fulfilling your real purpose. it’s best just to be in peace with whatever it is you’re doing or not doing in any given moment of time. it’s after all for some purpose and what you’re meant to be doing, or it wouldn’t be what you’re busy with. being busy or not is a blessing either way so roll with it and go with the flow. make space and give space to yourself and others.
bees remain busy, its what they do.
you and i are busy because that’s how we choose to be.
every day brings new experiences and some bring around a feeling of deja vu. it’s like one is being tried and tested again to see how we cope with recurring situations and challenges. no matter how familiar the circumsatnce may feel, the truth is that we are never the same person who may have experienced it earlier. nothing is ever the same or identical, time moves round and round and is not linear, perhaps thats why our clocks are mostly round. throwing out the clocks may not solve anything unless we throw out our linear vision and change and are willing to change our perception. there are infinite ways to look at anything and infinite possibilities. the best way to get ‘a-round’ is to do the best we can with patience, sincerity, wisdom, optimism, faith, trust, hope, humility and resilience. we can take care of our attitude and intention, the outcome and end result of our efforts will be taken care of by our invisible higher source within and around us and is not ours to control.
