‘living soulfully’

we give our attention to the things that matter most to us and these are the things we surround ourselves with. ‘living soulfully’ means we live thoughtfully, with a deep caring for our own person, our home, our family , friends, our work, our environment and the world at large.
it means living with a sense of being present in whatever we undertake in any given moment and showing up with love, attention, care and respect.

evolution

not only are we human beings evolving as a part of the constant dynamic process that is inherent to our earth, the solar system and the universe it is part of, but we are evolving at the level of human consciousness where we are aware and realising that we are all interconnected. there is no better or worse in this transformative process, it is what it is and moves from one point to another to no particular destination. we are in every moment already where we belong and are meant to be and moving forward with constant change, whether we accept it or not. when this change is accepted with optimism it’s empowering but when it’s colored with pessimism then it’s disempowering.
since we are co-creators of this evolutionary process it’s worth our while to be in it with a positive, open, receptive and dynamic awareness that leaves us open to new experiences and growth patterns. being attached to ideas and mindsets is a recipe for stagnation and blocks. creative growth and evolution calls for a pliable and open mind. it’s upto each one of us to be an instrument of our own change and evolution.

power versus force

power – is an inner quality that comes from within us and symbolizes, compassion, humility and non violence.
force – is an outer quality representing domination, violence and exploitation and has the ability to control human beings through instilling fear.
the politics of force and fear with gloom and doom on their agendas does not lead to peaceful societies or peace on earth..
what is required is a need to transcend our fears and cultivate an attitude of mutual interest and cooperation driven by an attitude of love and respect for oneself and all others…. love is the only real power that is ever present within each and every one of us.
politics of  force leads to war.
politics of inner power with love brings peace.

tao wisdom

“the greatest perfection seems imperfect
and yet its use is inexhaustible.
the greatest fullness seems empty
and yet its use is endless.”

lao tzu is asking us to look at the world we live in with new eyes. we are so used to looking at the world through conditioned eyes with the mindsets we have grown up with. our assessments are limited and endless and are based on teachings we have adopted as the only truth. they skim the surface and look at what’s obvious and superficial. we are being asked to look anew at that which we don’t see and consider senseless or out of sync.
step by step, moment by moment we evolve as human beings to that which we consider to be our higher vision of ourselves.  so all is as it’s meant to be.
perhaps there’s a method to the worlds madness and there’s tranquility in nonjudgement.

owning our own power

often when something unexpected or undesirable occurs we react and are disappointed and suffer the immediate consequences that the situation might bring. we feel a sense of loss and disempowerment.
however, all that’s required to flip the situation around and ‘own our own power’  is to simply change our way of looking at it and bring a shift in perspective and see it from a different angle from another position.
every situation has it’s silver lining and is happening for some valuable lesson and growth from which we will learn to be stronger and it will empower us.
taking a step back, relinquishing control, going with the flow, and shifting our perspective is all it takes to own back our own power.

freedom and wisdom

freedom and wisdom arise and are available to each one of us when we decide to be with what is in the present moment and learn from it, no matter how it looks or feels and stop dwelling with what could have been and what may be.

on suffering…

“it is right it should be so
man was made for joy and woe;
and when this we rightly know
through the world we safely go.”

– william blake
accepting suffering as a part of our existence of life is a way to end it . no getting away from it, but no point in letting it stick to us. the duality of life is there, the way to find a balance in it is through creativity and acceptance.

on love…

‘love is a surrender of ego and a meltdown of pride. love is a blossoming of beauty and a source of kindness. love is the soul of all stories, and inspiration to all poetry. the greatest art is the art of love. life without love is empty and art without love is vanity….
love is the solution to all our problems.
love is the answer to all our questions.
love is more than a thought or a concept or a principle, it is existence itself.
love is, therefore we are.
love is life imperative.’

- satish kumar, in ‘earth pilgrim’

love is a much used and abused word yet i come back to it for it is the source of all existence and happiness. like my friend satish says, love is a potent and all powerful life force and energy. there’s no life without love on earth.
for me it also means acceptance and loving what is in nature and being in peace with oneself and the world around us.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           it is unity and not uniformity.
compassion and kindness.
change is integral to our existence.                                                                                                                                                                           changing seasons, changing times, changing reasons…..birth and rebirth, accepting and growing, going with the flow and loving all of it as it comes and goes is a part of our life purpose.

common sense

everyone i believe is and should be first and foremost their own leader.

we are masters of our own self.
observe, listen and feel.
do your thinking for yourself.
let your heart guide you along with your gift of common sense.
see what works for you and keeps you in peace and harmony in and around you.
we are living in a world run by big corporations who are the decision makers and  driven by so called ‘economic sense’.
where’s the common sense?  that’s within each one of us .

so find it and use it.

change your channel

we are responsible for who and what we are.
we make a difference and we matter.
by remembering who we are and living from our hearts and not from our minds
change the channel – simply don’t tune into negative channels, on tv or otherwise…..
when we change the channel we change our world
