still point

when i can detach myself from this world of illusion and sit quietly with my inner awareness, in this place i call the ’still point’,  is where i’m able to most acutely be aware of all – that is, has been and will be.
the oneness.
call it what you may, it’s the force and energy that lies within each one of us and is there for us to know and feel and   ‘to see the world in a grain of sand’.

my school

learning and knowledge have come to me not just from the schools and universities i went to, but from this school of life  i am enrolled in.  everyone who has touched my life has been a teacher so,  i’ve had many masters and teachers.  i am and have been a student as long as i can remember and i intend to continue to be a student as far as i can see ahead.
i learn something new everyday, about myself and about life around me.   i learn something awesome that makes me wonder about the mystery of life that surrounds me and the more i learn i find the less i know.
in this school i learn because i want to and not what i have to.   now, there is no competition here for winning or losing, no desire to be better than the other,  i’m in peace with being myself,  it’s a school for evolving and being more aware.  i learn to be a kinder person and to come from my higher self.
the diplomas and degrees are of my own making and from an unseen force.
i love this school of life.
i am grateful to all my teachers.
and……… i am glad to be a life long student.

he who knows himself is enlightened.”

being ‘alone’ or ‘lonely’…..

i ‘ve understood that words convey deeper meanings, have energy vibrations and can empower or disempower.
no wonder the toltecs advise us to use the ‘impeccable word’.
for e.g. when we feel ‘lonely’, it means there’s something missing in our lives and we often seek to fulfill that void from the outside.
on the other hand feeling ‘alone’ requires us to find our wholeness from within ourseles.   it’s an empowering opportunity for us to be complete and strong.
the journey from being ‘lonely’ to being ‘alone’ is a healing one and we all experience it at some point of our life.

how are you feeling?

seems like we have about 60,000 thoughts every day. to control and monitor each and every one of them would be an exhausting task.
however, our feelings let us know quickly how we are feeling.
if you’re feeling good then you can be sure you’re having good thoughts about anything and if you’re not feeling so good then turn to your thoughts and you’ll find your thoughts are negative and are making you feel the way you are.
let your feelings be your guide to your thoughts. it depends on us and our awareness of where we want to be.
change your thoughts and you change how you feel.
it works if you want it to.
the choice is yours.

‘auguries of innocence’

to see a world in a grain of sand,
and a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
and eternity in an hour.

– william blake

blake reminded us through these beautiful words that everything we may need in order to understand the vastness of this universe lives in the simplicity of each small fragment.

attitude and intent

i was asked at my gallery talk yesterday, on how i worked to keep my energy up as an artist. there’s no one easy answer for this but the following certainly helps.
a determined attitude and awareness to remain happy, keeping an open heart and thinking thoughts that are positive about oneself and others helps to keep our energy levels up.
our life is a story, and we should not take it too personally or seriously, keeping a slightly detached perspective and staying above the day to day drama also helps to shift our perspective to remaining relaxed and upbeat.
doing things that one enjoys, keeping company with people who inspire and motivate us, remaining close to nature, doing something creative and helping another person also takes us out of our own ‘low energy’ box.
bottom line….our attitude and intention direct our flow of life.
so watch what you’re thnking, open your heart to some love for yourself and others, and see what magic works for you.

spring equinox

today we have an equal day and night.
balance is what the equinox spells out for me.
in this part of the world spring is officially here and there’s great aniticipation with the cherry blossom blooming.
i find staying in the moment we are in, is a good place to be.
no point running ahead into the future or reclining in the past. neither belongs to the present.
i know that nurturing and keeping a balance of being simply ‘present’ is the best gift i give to myself on this spring equinox.
hope you can do the same.

alchemists

whether we care or not, allow or not, shape or get shaped, our life experiences and the journey we’re on are the alchemic process that constantly changes and makes us who we are in this current moment.
all the so called good and bad stuff and memories provides us with the material that alchemy uses to mould us and gives us the narrative of our ever changing story.
whether we like it or not, accept it or not, believe it or not and deal with it or not – we are the alchemists of our own life concoction.

daimon

“people who live with the daimon don’t follow the crowd”
– thomas moore

i resonate with that thought as i recognize my daimon or guiding power that has shaped the uniqueness of who I am.
our daimons if we follow them and recognize them through an inner voice or intuition, prevent us from being swayed by practicality or the common wisdom.
our daimon becomes the guardian of our soul.
